1. The trailer mentions Japan more than a few times.
2. The explosion in the begining is like a bomb, not some godzilla like mouth flame.
3. There seems to be a lot of chatter about the Cthulhu. To me that means monster + outter space.

Therefore I conclude that Cloverfield will be an Evangelion movie.

Discuss.

It'd be cool if it was a Evangelion movie.

It comes out on my birthday.
 
well its arrived here in america...

that trailer alone just rocked the USA. right before a cash cow movie... you know everyone saw it / is interested in it
 
well its not an evangelion movie. no tokyo-3, its in new york (duh).. and a live action eva movie is already on the drawing board. ADV is still trying to raise funds to get it into production, but the farthest its gone is drawings by weta.

but

there are going to be new eva movies, 4 of them.. the trailer for the first came out a week ago

also he definitely says lion, no matter what he intended

If this really is an evangelion movie, do you think the angles would dissemble the statue of liberty and then throw it into the streets of ny? probably not. just... get on with the real killing already.

seeing as the statue of liberty is the tallest human around they probably saw that as the biggest threat and dealt with it first
