I just got a new house, and I'm trying to make a list of things I need to get to fill it. From big things like furniture to little things I will need like silverware and such. Any ideas?
 
I wouldn't buy anything major, I suggest you live in it for a year before you do so, you will have a much better understanding of what you need and what will work in the space.
 
Every new house needs a quality external hard-drive. With built-in automatic backup firmware.
 
+ A good hose & hose reel
+ Cordless can opener (invaluable!)
+ Fire extinguisher
+ Shopvac
+ Birdseed + bird feeder :)
+ Extension cords
 
a room that locks from the outside... for when you have "guests".
