I see people on this board talk about hours of cardio every day...does that seriously just mean running for an hour on a track or treadmill? What does your 'cardio' routine consist of?
Does anyone actually do HIIT? If so, how long do you do it for?

I do cardio about twice a week. 4 mile run on the beach and one HIIT session on a treadmill.

All out sprinting for a few minutes rather than endurance running for 30?

The basic idea is you alternating sprinting and jogging in increasingly difficult steps for limited amounts of time.

My HIIT routine for treadmill (15 mins):
mins 1-5: slow jog
min 6: full sprint
min 7: slow jog
min 8: full sprint
min 9: slow jog
min 10: full sprint
min 11: slow jog
min 12: full sprint
mins 13-15: slow jog

i do hiit
min 1-3 heart rate around 135 on eliptical
min 3-4 speed jump rope heart rate goes about 180
min 4-x(when heart rate hits 140) keep at 140 2 min on eliptical then repeat jumprope
rinse and repeat 35mintues = good times

i just do 20 min eliptical/skiing machine
i vary the intensity with the resistance and elevation
just gotta push thru it.
then 5 minutes cooldown
so technically its 25 minutes of cardio...

what more do u need?
depending on ur goals its gonna vary.
lose fat maintain muscle = low intensity over long periods of time
bulking but staying lean = hiit no more than 30min
heart strenght = heartrate over 150? (guessing dont wanna look it up)
not gonna justify. correct me if im wrong im no expert
