Update:

Since someone posted that "Thank you for Smoking" thread I was reminded of this. I'm still cigarette free though I do have the occasional cigar (2-3 a month) and I did it without pills or patches. In fact I was at a huge party near Lake Charles this weekend with smokers all around me and had no desire to spark one up.

I did gain 23 pounds within the 1st 7 months though, but I dropped 10 of those in the last month 1/2.

Yay me! :D

Good job~!! I have been smoke free for 3 years. It took me 6 tries to get it done.What you have to watch out for is the irge to light up after a year or so. Do not do it or you will be sucked in again. Good job keep it up.
 
its ben prolly 5 years since i smoked but i use to smoke cigs for 11 years and when i quit my lungs hurt for prolly 4 months. its not easy but i also quit without any help like nicorett or patches. i just cut back every day over a week till i had 1 cig on the last day.

That's pretty much what I did, the last 3 months or so before I went cold turkey I was down to about 1 cig a day.

Also I realized the only thing that was hard about it was to stop worrying about how hard it would be.

Edit: In all honesty, if you can puff up a cigar, get a good head of smoke and then inhale that shit, you're the fucking man. And I don't mean some ghetto cigar like swisher sweets with the pansy ass strawberry scent and plastic tip, I mean a full on dominican fatty.
