Difference between CIO and CTO?

CIO is usually over the IT department internally. A CTO is usually over product development.
For example, Cisco has a CTO that is responsible for operations concerning the deveopment, marketing, and sales of its products to its customers. They have a CIO which is incharge of internal IT procedures, policies, and operations.

This is the best part about being in a newly created position. Even though your title may say one thing, you're really whatever you want to be. If you add the function to your job, it becomes the job description.
Scud - Aren't you the guy who doesn't know how to buy a car, give a two week notice, add a route, use your treo etc? Now you don't know what your job is supposed to be? How the fuck are you going to be a CT or CIO?
