with all the NDA's now lifted i get to brag about my companies mobile game for the film Cars. It is a non-traditional "racing adventure" game where you complete various missions for all the films characters - track racing, checkpoint racing, escort missions, paving, etc.

Check it out here:

http://capybaragames.com/content/game_Cars.htm

The game is getting great reviews (well, aside from a slightly-above-average review from IGN), and is being promoted big-time on all major carriers.

Anyone who plays mobile games (falhawk i am looking at you) check it out. If you aren't a traditional mobile game buyer, give it a shot anyways.

here's some screens for your viewing pleasure

popular phones vary per carrier, but motorola's "fashion" line and some samsungs are pretty popular. I am partial to the new sony-ericcsons, great features even though their OS is the worst in the biz.

edit: yes, i am a coffee guy. as in i buy the coffee for my employees.

crom I think it is awesome that you work for a game company

that's really great, I'm completely serious in that.

however I think phone games are absolute trash. Might as well be programming games for me to play on my universal remote.

I am not going to knock your opinion, because 3/4's of the time i completely, wholeheartedly agree that mobile games eat fat dicks.

But in the same sense, 3/4 of ps2 games also eat fat dicks. There are a lot of crap videogames out there for any system, but people are just more afraid to give mobile a chance because the device isnt primarily for games.

Anywho, i know where you are coming from, but fortunately there is an enormous game-playing audience that disagrees. Before you knock the games we make, you should give one a try.

i have, I've tried all sorts. from the kinds I used to program on my graphing calculator to the movie license kind. They all sucked.

But again pelase don't take this as an insult. If I were interested in working for a game company in any fashion I'd totally take your job.

well, seeing as how the mobile platform (phones/smart phones/handhelds etc) will completely eclipse the pc platform in terms of sheer numbers eventually, it's probably a great investment to get in now.

mobile userbase is enormous. it is already a force to be reckoned with. mobile gaming is already a billion-dollar industry, and in NA it is still very young.

google how much VC has been pumped into mobile lately...it is crazy

new SE's are great.

old SE's are the worst.

That is a really nice-looking game. The mobile phone game industry has been growing very rapidly these days.

p.s. The trailer link on the web site doesn't work. (http://www.capybaragames.com/Cars_Trailer.zip)

Ok, i bought this game. it's decently fun, although the version i have the interface is different from what you have above.

it's def a kids game, and the collision physics bug me a bit (they're so simplistic and irritating at times) but the game itself seems pretty solid. and it's only $7, so what do you expect?
