Data is a ****wit, he is only a recent anime bandwagon applicant.

You can watch anything from Studio Ghibli (Miyazaki in particular) and not be dissapointed.

Howls Moving Castle is the most recent US released addition.

But you have so much to choose from, do a search on Ghibli and Miyazaki to see more of his work or http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0594503/ and http://www.nausicaa.net

Spirited Away is way better than Mononoke. They're by the same director, Hayao Miyazaki. He also runs Studio Ghibli, which has released about a dozen films that are better than Mononoke.

"Nausicca" is awesome as well. They only used the first book, and it's encapsulated, so no sequels... and Patrick Stewart plays one of the main characters in the recent American "re-release."

What is a noke, and is it rare for royalty to only have a single one?

No, in fact there's pretty much no killings in Spirited Away if I remember. It's pretty soft and mellow movie.
If you want something for adults go with Appleseed or Ghost In The Shell.
As for tentacles **** that's called hentai, cause mainstream anime is much more tamed. And redundant.

Japan would dissagree with you.

Haiyo Miyazaki is regarded as Japans best director without a doubt, in both the live action and animated movie genres.

This is why his movies are always the most highly anticipated and watched movies in Japan.

I've always loved Totoro..

Pretty much everything that Hayao Miyazaki makes is good though.
