domain name question

if you have a domain name from europe, but the host is in usa, will it create any kind of delay/lag?
 
Depends on where the DNS is hosted. Even then, there might not be much delay. Check the ping to the DNS host.
 
Would be irrelevant really.

The lookup will be requested from you to your ISP's DNS servers, who then ask the root servers for the domain info, then your ISP cache it for a few hours/days.

Your PC also cache's it for a while, so yeah, would be really irrelevant - its not used much besides the initial lookup.

it makes sense. dns is distributed, so is postal information... :shrug:
