[TV Gurus] What's a good television to get....

EPIK

Veteran XX
I'm looking to spend around 700-900 so I'm obviously not looking for anything too spectacular.

I'd like something like 27-30 in. Flat screen would be nice. LCD would be nice. HDTV.... eh, it'd be a plus.

Currently, I only have composite for my DVD player. I'm not trying to create some state of the art home entertainment theater (my budget simply wont allow it).

I was looking at that. Although, I'm going to go check it out in person to see what I really think of it.

Suggestions?

You could get a huge non LCD TV for $800.

I've got a 47 inch rear projection tv from 1994. Need approx. $150 in repairs and it'd be okay.

However, I don't have enough space in my room for such a monstrosity.

thats an easy question to answer

SXRD.jpg

oops forgot... 60" SXRD XBR by Sony

edit: nm, i didnt read the part about price

The SXRD XBR have a recall posted on BestBuy's door :D
They tend to burn out after so many hours of being left on. Look for the info.

Really? One of my friend's parents are about to pull the trigger on a 60" sxrd for their new house, and are also having custom cabinets built around it... do you have a link for this? For the $$$$, it would be kind of me to warn them, so that they don't get a bad revision....
