it will be permanently removed when you leave iraq. this would cut a lot of the beheading bullshit. soldiers and civilians/reporters for maybe 1-2 years wear this thing under the skin in a random place that only the detector people know where. sure you'll probably still get killed, but at least we'll find ya.
 
its kind of hard to spot a foreigner with a tracking device DUH.

god everyone and their dog could spot someone with a tattoo on their foreehad.
 
The problem with your idea is range. There are no under-skin chips that can be picked up at great range. So you'd still be missing / dead.

It's only after your body is pulled from the local municiple waste treatment facility that they'd be able to easily identify you.
