Not the film, the actual place.
They are Dad's neighbors, kind of across the valley (5 miles or so) from us.

Hi Lavan, thought you might enjoy reading this:

Well, even if he can't get his facts straight about who's raising the horses, he sure interviewed some good "salt of the earth" folks.
We wondered how long it would take for someone to think that miserable, despicable movie had anything to do with our beloved ranch name.

I ride for them in summer, it's more babysitting tourists (horse-newbs) than actual work, and they are good folks, although (as you can read) still have old-fashioned mormon values. Given the film, I do wonder if they will be getting a . . wider variety? of tourists in summer 06.

Found it interesting, thought I would share.

So the non-gays of Brokeback have a problem with a gay movie centered around their town. I'm not terribly surprised.

Arabians are awesome endurance horses, great athletes, blah blah blah but I don't like their temperament. A paso-fino or a morgan have all the fire you could want, but don't get barn-sour the way Arabians do. And for the PC folks- in Ten Sleep, they still call them "Arabs" heh.
