so what is considered "official" american food

all i can think of is simple stuff like hotdogs, chili, and baked potatoes.
not sure about hamburgers. my guess is they're a german thing.

i live in san jose and mainly just eat foreign stuff so i guess im out of touch :shrug:

I defy you to find anything resembling a pepperoni pizza in Italy. I'd also be highly impressed if you could find a BBQ'ed pork-shoulder sandwich in whatever crazy country you just said.
 
bbq has been around since spear chuckers chucked spears into stears and dears then hooked em and cooked em.... er something

you're confusing smoked meat with traditional Southern american BBQ. What kind of sauce did a spear-chucker use?

pizza is american
burgers are american
freedom fries are american
hot wings + beer are american
 
easy, anything that you currently eat that is causing you to die of heart disease (the most likely thing that kills americans).
