Nextel service/phones

Yeah I know nextel service sucks overall. My sister has one and I can hardly ever reach her. But I need to know if nextel supports GSM phones or what type of service do they use.

or in short, can i use a unlocked razr on nextel
 
Not sure, but Sprint bought Nextel, and Sprint now has phones that will work walkie talkie with Nextel.....
 
i have nextel and i have no issues with it currently. before they merged with sprint nextel was a billion times better but.. what ya gonna do.

i've used nextel to talk to my mom and friends when they were down in the southern tip of mexico. and florida, and my nextel was actually working in places where it wasn't for the people i was with.
 
ive heard a wholllllllle lotta crap about nextel if you are not in their prefered areas.

i have sprint, i do not plan to stick with them.

im thinking either a badass/import sony ericson, the verison satelite broadband, or a sidekick 2/3(?).
 
The only companies I believe that use GSM phones are T-mobile and Cingular/ATT in the US. Right now, I'm with T-mobile and just got an unlocked Motorola v551. Great phone :D
