I remember being at one of the executive vice presidents houses and they had one of these "geeksquad" guys there "fixing" one of their computers.

charged 150 dollars an hour to have adaware installed.

it was funny.

I laughed.

the "EVP" ( :rolleyes: ) got pregnant took her stock options and quit


it was awesome.
 
badmofo I feel bad because you are the hardest working man in the world and all these stuck up lazy assed managers are dumb and you are not. :(
 
Tsk, tsk... stereotyping. Mofo is a frookin' busy netadmin... to imply he 'doesn't work' is like implying 'rain doesn't fall'. He may have more fun than is natural doing what he does (and what he does in between work), but to say he doesn't work is silly.

Now, he may not work his ass off physically like grocery clerks or UPS drivers or anything.. but you can't say he doesn't work because of that.
 
I need to get myself one of those jobs where I don't have to work as hard.


I'm planning to goto a tech school and getting a computer neworking degree (or something) will that be sufficient to get me a decent job making at least $30k/yr?

hey btw-Im about to demo an appliance from packeteer (another wan compression/traffic shaping appliance) supposedly does as well as orbital but provides more network visibility and traffic control.

of course, we'll see how that works out it sounds to me like a lot of administrative overhead which I dont like.

the orbital was just plug in and go I like that...

I'll let you know in a few weeks how this one stacks up, both come in around the same price range though...

The hard part is actually scoring a job... finding one. But if you score a job, then yeah $30k would probably be attainable up there in Oregon with a networking type degree. But be prepared to shell out something like $10k to get it through one of those schools. Perhaps there are edu grants that would help pay for it, I dunno.

Sounds very interesting. Hit me up with an email or something when you get done playing with it (I might miss a post). I'd like to drop the concept on the corp guys and see what, if anything, they know about it. They have enough connections throughout the country that a solid product of this sort would definitely appeal to them. And of course I'd look good bringing it to their attention. *cough* :cool:
 
I can't blame them. Why work 14 hour days doing networking for a major company when you can work 2-3 hours a day and spend the rest of your time looking at people's creepy porn fetishes.
 
lol i remember i was fixing someone's office network
once i booted up one of the PCs... some gay app got loaded on startup
"Porn Scan" i think... said something like "Don't get caught with porn"
how ironic... :lol: and it was a secretary's (woman) workstation

1/2 way through the year I gots everything working great and I am out of money soooo what else do i have to do than sit on my ass!
