yay another laptop thread

Option A)
IBM Thinkpad T43
Intel Pentium M Processor 740 1700MHz
1GB PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM
60GB 5400RPM
ATI Mobility RADEON x300 64 MB
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
+ extra battery, fingerprint reader (wtf), case (ugly ibm one) & lock
$1600 CAD

Option B)
IBM Thinkpad R51
Intel Pentium M Processor 725 1600MHz
1GB PC2700 DDR
40GB 5400RPM
ATI Mobility RADEON 7500 32 MB
XP Home
$1150 CAD

I understand option A is a much better laptop, but is the ~$500 before tax difference worth it? I will be using it for photoshop, MS office apps, plus some other work-related apps that are fairly intensive.

i would prefer to spend less, so if there are other laptop options people have, spit'em out - i am going IBM/lenovo cause my gf's dad works there and gets deals.
