London, Europe. - Today results were announced of an experiment designed to determine whether television was superior to acknowledged masterpieces of painting. A man was taken to a room which contained Caravaggio's The Ecstasy of St. Thomas valued at $12 million, and a 14" black-and-white television set, valued at $12. Over the course of the hour time limit, the man looked at the painting for 2 minutes, and spent the remaining 58 minutes watching fuzzy re-runs of The Phil Silvers Show.
Upon being presented with the evidence, Terrance Bistlethwaite, curator of the British National Gallery, responded: "Well I'm convinced. All this shit's going in the bin." He then gestured toward the works of fine art displayed across the gallery walls and added "I always thought it was bollocks anyway".
