It made news because of the actions of a "grandma" don't fit the idea of a typical "grandma" But home burglaries/robberies are not rare.
 
she was on the talk radio station here in the DFW area yesterday and i was listening and he actually went into the front yard to try to get away and when he was running off she had shot at him again.. she missed but damn.

she also said that she has a 12 guage shotgun, and some other pistol in the house. She didn't hear the guy break in because she was upstairs sleeping with her 5 pomeranian dogs. She keeps a 2 box fans in the room to keep her dogs cool at night.
