ohh what did you get? I'm thinking of picking up something pretty cheap so i wont feel so bad when i drop it. My bro will give me a smoking deal on a theft recovery kawasaki zx6r he has in the shop. Anybody have any experience riding the green team?
Mate at work rode a zzr250 (cheap to run being one of his priorities) and, until a taxi turned across in front of him, he was perfectly happy with it. He says he'll probably get another with the insurance money.
Best advice (I think) is have a look around at what's available, know what you want from your bike and therefore what style bike would suit you. Try some dealers around, see what you like the feel of - bikes are a lot more personal than cars, they need to 'fit'.
But.. a smoking deal's a smoking deal. If it's not something you don't want, and is that good a deal... yeah. Just be careful.. it might not seem like much, but the average 600 is still more than enough to get a newbie into trouble.
