What color of socks goes best with brown shoes in a business-casual attire setup? IE - white shirt, khaki pants, brown shoes.

This argument is raging around our cubicles right now. I'll not tell you anyone's thoughts until I get a good answer from TW - you guys are the e-pimps, after all.

By brown shoes, I'm assuming you mean dress-casual, instead of dress shoes. I'd say no socks, as long as the shoes don't stain your feet.

Also, never match the color of your shoes with your socks. Ick. Lighter garments as you go close to your skin (think undies, dress shirt under your suitcoat). Ever wonder why black bra's are considered 'racy'?

Light tan dress or regular socks.

Black contrasts too much, white is a nono with anything but Tennis shoes or Boots.

that was about the consensus - there was a guy here who swore black socks would be okay. (it wasn't me)
