How can a major news organization miss this?

he was dead before the first bullets hit him. in a metaphorical sense.

there's no way he was getting out of there alive.

edit: althought cnn changed it already, it was perfectly fine before (but possibly awkward for those who can't figure out where a pause was supposed to go).

I see how it doesn't flow well. I just can tell what they meant and go with that. I don't look at those things and rag on it, I just read what was meant to be read and move on. :shrug:

I failed English in HS. :D
