Kreator is also a good band, they sound a lot like Slayer. (and have been around longer if I recall correctly)

I saw Kreator and Vader Sunday, it was fucking amazing. Vader closed their set with Raining Blood. Kreator played like a 2 and a half hour set, they just tore it up. Kreator over Slayer anyday.

My friend says that in Gulf War 1 (hell, probably 2 also) tankers would BLAST slayer out of speakers towards the enemy. Straight freak those Iraq suckers out.
