Each year, the female camel spiders seperate into two groups. It's amazinly because they split exactly into two evenly numbered groups. If there is an odd number of camel spider females in the desert, one will sacrifice herself to the cause.

Once they are split into groups, they run at each other and butt heads. The females who win get to mate with the males who have been hiding in sand holes during the violent fight.
