Okay so I have a netgear router and am trying to get two computers online at one time *gasp*
I have comcast high speed cable internet and if I hook the cable modem directly to the slot on the router that says "internet" then hook up the two computers to two free slots it works just fine. Then my buddie loads up WoW and I try downloading porn at the same time and it works for a min or two then both computers loose internet. Resetting the router gives the internet back to both... as does unplugging either the modem or the router for a few seconds.
wtf I mean I'm no networking master but as far as I know it either works or it doesent work, why the hell would running a lot of stuff thru the thing cause both computers to loose connection? The bandwidth being sucked should not matter at all...
I know there are internal router settings and all that I could access but I should not have to do that junk unless I'm doing something advanced right?
No matter how much I try and learn about IP settings and DNS shit and crossover cables and all that annoying stuff none of it ever seems to make sense when you apply it to real world equipment. I either get lucky and it works all of a sudden or I'm fucked untill some random thing happens and *blip* I'm back online
right, uh anyway any suggestions, is it time to ctrlk irl
cliffs
*network borked
*need to kill self
*WoW sucks
*I like pergo floors
