Jerkwads came around today 'fixing' a cable outage, and slapped a 3 inch metal ****ing cock on my cable modem line..
How dare they expect me to pay for cable internet, and cable tv..

This one's not going in the trash like the last 2, but getting drilled out so I can run a wire through it.

****ers making me go out in the goddamn snow...

I would have attacked the cable guy.

Time Warner in Central Florida is good. One of the few good ones, as I understand it. I like them.

I really wouldn't mind if cable internet here wasn't 55$ a month for ****ty service. If you want basic cable, it's another $20 for 17 channels, and $45 - 50 for 50 channels.

01-26-2005, 06:36 AM
what is it?

01-26-2005, 07:07 AM
SAW filter. This particular one blocks channels above 19, and below 12.

01-26-2005, 07:08 AM
must've been what they did to me when i lost all the free movie channels i was getting.

From that pricing it sounds like you live here in RI and have Cox(suckersLOLZ) cable. Shame to see that it's just as bad in other places.

Find the green box near your yard or appartment, remove this goddamn thing, and shove it up the cable guys ass. Beware, some of these are 'addressable', the cable companies can comunicate remotely with them, and adjust the settings. They look a little different, and have ars on the tag.

The standard ones look like this:

Cable services have got to be the biggest rip off around. They have no competition and can charge whatever the **** they want. There really is no regulation.

01-26-2005, 07:31 AM
yea no competition except satellite

01-26-2005, 07:49 AM
what would be neat, if you went and got a filter that didnt block the channels, and replaced theirs.

Essentially what I'm doing. I'm drilling this one out to make room for a pass through wire. I'll hot glue it in place so it looks stock even if they disassemble it.

I suppose there would be a hot market for kits to do this.. ;)

Moved to a new house and was put in charge of hte cable bill. Signed the internet over to my name, and of course, not the cable. Didnt realize this till they tried to cut off the cable for dilinquency.

They then realized that this wasnt a "single family home" but a large ugly house with 12 people living in it. We are now a "commercial" account that has $80 automatically + 7 dollars a line (13) + $55 for only one line of internet.

260 ****ing dollars of ass ****ing. I made sure to let the "loss prevention" guy know that I'll prolly close our account at the beginning of summer.

****ing filthy ******s. Going to firebomb their sat to make me feel better.

I be hacking someones dick off if they did that to me

01-26-2005, 08:59 AM
It's just a low-pass filter. You can remove the capacitors and coils and run a wire straight through.

But, enjoy jail if they get tired of it.

01-26-2005, 04:16 PM
How the **** can they impose a commercial liscense on a residential house?

Jerkwads came around today 'fixing' a cable outage, and slapped a 3 inch metal ****ing cock on my cable modem line..

Doesn't that **** interfere with the cable modem signal? I'm no electrician but if cable splitters can **** up your signal, what about this thing?

01-26-2005, 04:40 PM
It's not supposed to, but I imagine it did.

01-26-2005, 04:42 PM
my service just got upped to 5mb
