Looking for a Good Microphone

I'm looking to record some instruments (trumpet, tenor sax). Anybody have some recommendations on what model/type mic I should buy? Looking to spend anything up to $90.

Also, which is the best type, electret, or condenser?

My mic (Oktava MK319) was on sale at Guitar Center recently for $70. I paid $150 and it sounds pretty good. Trouble is that it's a condenser mic so you'll need phantom power to record with it. It gets really good reviews for the price. I've recorded tons with it

Sennheiser makes great mics, as does Shure. i'd suggest posting on a pro-audio and/or recording website instead of on TW if you want quality advice.

You can also get them off ebay for ~$60 if you don't mind using that method.

I don't think a condenser would be worth it for horn instruments.

I know shit about mics, but a lot of people like these IIRC.
