[question] Changing peoples wallpaper remotely

Can this be done with policy edit or whatever? In relation to my previous thread about Texas Tech and Cal , Im going to change the cal fans wallpaper to Texas Tech etc etc.

Help me Obiwan, you are my only hope.


Yes Im admin and they are Xp machines in an AD environment.

yeah but I dont want to change everyones..just a couple of machines.
 
If its AD you can set the GPO to execute only for a set group of people.

If not an AD enviornment then you can use a login script to copy down a bmp and then push a reg file or using vbscript set

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\Wallpaper

It is a string so give it an absolute path value
 
If its just as a joke then remote regedit the user and change that key.

For non Active Desktop systems then the path to background will be

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper
