Does gravity travel at the speed of light?

Is gravity affected by the medium through which it (whatever it is) travels?

gravity doesn't travel...

gravity is an effect on objects due to one mass being larger than another. There is a maximum acceleration level for the gravity on earth, which is roughly 9.8 m/s2, but... it doesn't travel, per se.
 
the theory is that

mass causes a deformation in space-time which propagates via gravity waves

this real wave travels through the medium at speed c

Gravity must travel, look up a little guy called Einstein.

As per the topic of the thread, this is actually hotly debated, which is why you're not finding answers. There are lots of theories but nobody has yet found conclusively how fast gravity travels.

Einstein propsed a theory, but the gravity isn't so much traveling as the effects of it are. It's merely a force.

Wrong.

Gravity doesn't depend on a difference in masses. Also, 9.8 m/s^2 isn't the max acceleration.. it IS the accelration at sea level.

There is no general theory of gravity, but general relativity describes how gravity effects space and time. Basicly stating that it is a resultant force caused by mattter bending or warping space-time (Do not confuse with StarTrek techno-babble-bullshit)
