2-loss system in throwback

I was looking at the brackets and i noticed that the winner of the winners bracket plays the winner of the losers bracket. If the winners bracket champion loses, shouldnt it be fair that they should play a second game between the two teams since it is a 2-loss system? the way its set up now a team could lose one and be out

The winner of the loser's bracket has to beat the winner's bracket winner twice.

It's a double elimnation bracket. That's how they work, unless you're at UVA2 and Zero-X is doing the brackets.

At UVA4, team 4 did play team 12 twice though at the end.

can someone explain to me where 'loser 9' comes from?

edit: regarding the tournament bracket

Good question. Not a big deal though.
