try loading task manager by running taskmgr

I know its the same thing, but I had a problem where it wouldn't work the normal way, but would come up if I tried to run the .exe

try this util (cwshredder, cleans up certain spyware/malware that can cause that): http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

There are also viruses that do that...

reboot, then remove everything from startup (including registry) if it continues
