agent smith was removed because his "task" was complete, or his program/objective was finished

Actually I think he said (or maybe I said it, but I didn't post it, for which I would apologize) that because Neo was integrated into Smith, he sacraficed himself to delete the Smith program (since he was part of it, he accepted the Source's deletion command, which Smith said he rejected in Revolutions). Or something like that.

Doubtful, why do you say this. Because of my "jesus" comment? Honestly I can see how the movies are a metaphor for Jesus, but I'd rather interpret it a different way. Maybe that's what it really was, I didn't read anything by the Watchamakowski brothers that said so, but if they did, well I'm wrong.

I agree with much of what was said in that big long ass thread before, except for:

When Smith assimilated The Oracle... She remained inside his program... like a trojan. When Smith was talking to neo at the end he says "everything that has a beginning has an end" that's what the oracle said before, that's how you know she's in there... then smith starts struggling with himself, but he couldn't help taking over neo, he knew it would kill him because he realised what was going on...

without trinity, neo didn't care much about living anymore anyway. and the only reason he was living in the first place was to do what "the one" was supposed to and so it was an easy decision to die once he determined that it was the right thing to do noticing the Oracle's speech pattern in agent Smith.

also, when Neo's eyes were all gone, and when he was dead... there was a shot there when he was dead that made him look like jesus on the cross. you know he was in the same position with his arms and jesus had his eyes pecked out by crows... sort of symbolism for neo being a "saviour". so in that sense, since jesus "was ressurrected"... maybe that's trying to say that neo's spirit somehow will live on inside.
