Audio problems.. A7N8X mobo

Ok, I know plenty of you have this board, and raved about it. I just got mine up and running, and I get no sound from it. I tried plugging in another set of speakers that work fine on the PC right next to it, so I know it's not that.

I just get zero sound out of it. Volume controls all way up.

Possible problem? The manual says it has a "Realtek® ALC650 audio CODEC" onboard for 6 channel sound. The only sound device listed in hardware manager is the nForce audio codec.. is that it?

Did you install nForce chipset drivers?

Yep, latest nForce driver set from nvidia.com

Not to be obvious but are you certain the speakers are in the right holes? The speaker connections are sort of weird on that board.

Do you get any audio signals when you open the nForce Control Panel?

Yeah I just tried plugging into each and testing, no sound but I get a hum when plugging in, so the speakers are juiced.

Hmm I have no nForce control panal... where would that be?

It's an audio control panel that I got from nVidia's site I believe. It will give you little 'led' style levels.

Ok.. WTF? It says under the unified nForce drivers (which I just re-installed) that the audio control panel should install with it.

I still don't have it.

Check the advanced chipset options in Bios. There's an option to to disable/enable onboard audio, maybe it's disabled.
