So which one of you illiterates will be buying and reading neil stephensons new book entitled "Quicksilver". Ive got it and will be digging into this mammoth book over the weekend.

yep i had it preordered on amazon...hopefully it has shipped!
This is the next book in the cryptonomicon "trilogy" (even though it doesn't take place at the same time)

No. This is the first book in the Baroque cycle trilogy. the remaining 2 are yet to be released. Cryptonomicon was more like an experiment and part of an unrealized trilogy but it never materialized.
