virtual memory

alright, my friend fucked with my virtual memory settings and my computer freaked, so here's the question. How much virtual memory do you want to allow (min and max)? As much as you can? I need games to run well but I also need it to be balanced at other times. thnx.


Oh and last night my college ethernet was using up 75-100% of my system resorces and I had no fucking idea what to do, so I unpluged it, and it seems to be fine this morning. any ideas about that?

First question: 2 to 3 times your physical memory, up to 1024MB. It's easier on the system if you specify one value for the page file. It eats a lot of system resources when the page file has to be resized to accomodate memory-hungry programs.

Second question: Virus.
