Can I get a router and specify how much bandwith other PC's on it get?

I have my main computer which is on a cable modem and I have a shit PC I need to allcocate about 4 kb up and 4 kb down, is this possible?

You could just install a bandwidth limiter on all of the PCs. Otherwise no unless you have a lot of money.

Some of the cheapies have a rudementary QoS, but I don't think that will do what you want.

BadMoFo is right, unless you have some big bucks...or ebay.

You also might be able to hide some software on the machine to limit bandwidth.

Setup a FreeBSD box as your router. Use dummynet.
