can i run a dual monitor setup without using the vid card like the monitor plugin on the mobo???

Well if we knew what you had in the way of hardware we might be able to answer that question with something other than an answer that we just pulled out of our asses.

dual pent 2.6 1024 ddr 400 ram Aopen geforce ti4600 Audigy 2 platinum
and some gateway mobo that came with the system

Unless you have 2 video cards - and judging from your last post you don't - you won't be able to run two outputs from the AGP slot AND the on-board video simultaneously.

Now, if your GeForce has a DVI port, you can use a DVI converter and the nVidia nView settings to enable dual monitors. Gaming performance may or may not take a hit... Your mileage may vary I suppose.
