My friend is looking to buy a laptop. He would like to spend under $1000 if possible with the following requirements:

nvidia video 64mb or higher
20 GB harddrive or higher
CDRW
screen size not important
weight not really important

I don't know if processor has to be the latest and greatest out there either.

Any thought of brands or models?

I'm kind of confused. You said nvidia video 64mb+ but then you said the processor doesn't need to be great. What is the point of the video card then?

As far as I know most laptops that come with a Geforce 4 also are 1.5ghz+ and ~$1250-1500

only way you'll get it for $1000 is ebay
 
ya, TI is right. The nvidia gfx in notebooks are embedded, so u only get them with more expensive laptops. It's not like an addon card you pop in.

its like 2 months old and i have the box it came in and all the cabels and everything.

the warranty alone was like 250$
