The parental controls for AOL don't work for shit. My daughter gets porn spam like you wouldn't belive. So we set the controls down, and then she can't get to legit web sites or safe chat rooms. My daughter has learned everything about sex because of AOL.

So my point, is that controls will get in the way of using the site, and not stop the bad stuff.

I was at a friends house while in Denver and they have AOL.

As the Aol 8.0 was loading 3 p0rn popups loaded. I was laughing, since they are a very conservative couple, that probably only has sex missionary style.

True, but here's the problem. Most teenage girls use AOL, because all their friends are on it. They set up buddy lists, and communicate with each other. I have Comcast, and BellSouth connections, but still had to get AOL so my daughter could talk with her friends. AOL advertises itself as this wonderful, safe place to be with parental controls. Yet they don't work. Now what? Shut off AOL and disconnect my daughter from her friends and chat about horses, or let it go? I let it go, we tell her not to click on the crap.
But now the popups actually install "Live Girls" software on the computer. It's getting to be a joke.

The word about AOL being nothing but porn popups and installing sex software will soon be the jokes on TV, because it's happening.
