I got the following email today.

So I go there to check it out and there's no info about anything relating to money prizes much less big money prizes.

So I say to you wtf?

I know these guys are a nice addition to the ladder and competition scene but what's up?

There have been rumblings around here about being overdue for a forum invasion, is this the right time to mobilize the troops?

All I can say is this is a pretty low blow from within the competitive gaming community if they don't produce the goods.

but look at the sent date. not only :closet: but :no:.

plus using their admin mailing list for an late april fools joke imo is a very bad idea.

this is not a spam list, this came from an admin list, the same is if your profile here allows admins to send you email.

spammers are gonna have to work harder than forum crawls to get me. no reason for them to have a gimme.

i JUST got the nigerian scam thing yesterday. all in all, i'm pretty spam free.

I have 2 complaints about this.

1. based on when the email was sent it was no longer april 1st.

But more importantly:

2. the use of an admin mailing list for a joke demostrates exceptionally poor judgement.

Please remove fidelio@bleeped.com from this list and feel free to delete my account. There are enough competition ladders out there who do not abuse the rights of administrative mailing lists that squadgames.com is of little or no consequence to me personally or to the competitive teams or communities I associate with. Furthermore when asked my opinion of squadgames.com I will be obliged to mention the wreckless use of restricted administrative information given in confidence to squadgames.com

Which is why I run a "disposable" mail server and nameserver

1: Make subdomain
2: MX subdomain to home mail server
3: Make dummy account on said server
4: Signup using dummy email
5: Get confirmation email
6: Delete info created in steps 1-3
7: Rinse & Repeat as necessary
