whats the status/anticipated release date of the hammer?

AMD doesn't seem to know WTF it's doing at the moment. They keep changing their minds.
Apparantly now Opteron (SledgeHammer) has priority over the ClawHammer, so you're pretty much looking at a year or more by most people's guesses.
I was also very disheartened to see that pretty much every Hammer board shown thus far isn't pure AMD. They all have VIA/ALI/Etc Southbridges.
There goes any plans I had for buying one (two, actually.) Apparantly they're going to continue their tradition of nice chips paired with shitty chipsets.

Amd needs to come up with something fast. The lack of competition is not good for cpu prices.
