I read the same review, and the preview from E3. They REALLY like it, and it does seem nice. Not really enough buttons for Tribes, but for a generic fps I bet it would. Id buy one, but only somewhere I could take it back if I dont like it.

There is a hat switch for your thumb that you can barely see in the pic. Thats like 4 extra buttons..

I have one. The only thing I really found it useful for was games like Mechwarrior Mercenaries. It was handy to have the joypad on the left for turning, jumping and crouching, then the mouse for aiming and torso twist. Never used it for any kind of fps games though. It was only useful for games where you use a mouse and a joystick together.

I tried it, but didn't really like it. There simply isn't enough keys. If it had three rows of keys instead of two, it would rock.

I have one, i like that you can program a string of keys. it makes things go a little quicker ingame. it doesn't fit all hands though, if you have shorter fingers you might not like it

I have one and use it all the time. Works great, easy to program the keys to what you want.

Don't understand those that say it doesn't have enough keys. It has two rows of keys and you can program the "thumb" directional keypad as a "rocker" switch. You can then use the d-pad to switch the two rows of keys to any of two additional sets of key commands. So for just the eight keys, that gives you 24 key combinations, not including the use of the directional key pad as inputs. C'mon, how many keys do you need?

Anyway, the Nostromo is cheap. Buy one. Give it a try. I think if you give yourself some time to get used to it, you'll like it.
