How the hell are you supposed to shoot down a shrike without a missle launcher? Without it shrikes would be ungodly unbalanced.

First off, a good pilot and player can out manuever a missile. 2nd in the player, thats what flares are for.

We all know flares stop missiles, but the point is that because of missiles, everyone has to carry flares. And because everyone has to carry flares, all the other grenades are useless.

Just say "no" to missile launchers

Ever hear of a GRENADE LAUNCHER? And with my experience grenades arent the most helpful and a grenade launcher is a ton easier. once again

several options here:

1. make flares a seperate 'batman' belt feature & u can carry another grenade type

2. no-lock on armors, but make it shoot without lock so u can get dumb fire MA's

3. axe it all together

Aside from having dumbed down skiing, the fact that a missile launcher can lock onto people is why I refuse to play classic.

i don't know about most people, but, when it comes to the rocket launcher, i don't find it fun to use.

Sure the first few times you lock on and you see their ass running away only to get wasted by the missile is bloody funny. And likewise, watching a shrike try and shake one off without flares is good too. But, once that novelty has worn off, i simply don't find it fun to use.

I don't care if it makes things easy, or means it stops the shrike from taking my flag. I like to have fun when I play. And i don't get that if i am using the rocket launcher. I would rather chase the flag all game, skiing my ass off, and loose, then stand their on D with the RL.

I'm not sure what you're smoking but missiles don't nullify shrikes in classic. Shrikes were brought into balance by classic's speed. Missiles are still just an annoyance.

stfu member. Are you honestly going to use a GL inside the base? What a great way to blow your self up.

Ban missile launchers, or, failing that, ban the ability to lock on to players, make it only vehicles/turrets/etcs

A better alternative would be to make it so that the player has to keep their crosshairs fixed on the target in order for the missle to track the target.

This solves a few problems:

1. Shrikes can shake the missles by getting out of the sight of the targeting player.

2. Players being targeted can run for cover rather than run + flare

3. The player firing the missle is vulnerable to attack while standing still keeping the missle on track
