Thrax Speaks

from what I gather the folks at sierra and irrational seem pretty excited about normal mapping and volumetric shadows.

I don't understand how normal mapping is any differnt from bump mapping, and are volumetric shadows shadows that are additive to one another or do they diffuse at a distance or what?

I dunno about that...

GS: Should we expect to see new threats and new types of characters introduced in Vengeance beyond the playable characters in Tribes' multiplayer?

CM: Threats? What the fuck are you talking about? Yes there will be TONS of threats that have us very excited. Throughout the single player story you will be pursued by a vicious talking vagina and a sexually confused eskimo. We wanted to put the eskimo in multplayer but we figured people would be too dumb to understand how to use it. Of course you probably ment TREATS, to which my reply would be: FUCK OFF, I'm not answering anymore of your questions!

The thing that suprises me the most is the fact that irrational has spent a year on this game so far. Thats quite a decent chunk of time.

Thrax any word on how large the dev team is at this point?

Wow.

That article/interview made me want to play T:V. I'm... giddy.

What is this feeling you have stirred in me!?!

MY FAITH IN THE TRIBES FRANCHISE IS RESTORED!

Counting all the people on TribalWar who think they should count as part of the dev team we're way over 10,000.

you make it sound like thats a bad thing...

think of all the different people you could use as voice actors

blah blah blha,

t2 this t2 that... Its funny how all game sites compare T:V with t2, yet not even mentioning t1. After all t1 was and still is a big factor in this community.

jesus due out late 2004

I'm going to go hibernate for awhile, and get on with my life :)

This will be interesting, competition for doom 3 and possibly Half-Life 2?

But i'm sure one of you know when HL2 is coming out..

any word on counter-strike: condition zero?

I've been waiting for that for a LONG time

HL2: September 30th 2003 (or was it october) anyways, somewhere around there. I have a link to it on a forum, but the site is down for the night.

Condition Zero is being shipped in the "Sierra MultiGame Vapor-Pack"

comes with Duke Nukem Forever, Team Fortress Classic 2, and a suprise "beta" of Legends
