[T:V] "Completely different armor models per Tribe"Sir Lucius 05-06-2003, 23:40 http://www.bittah.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=58230#582 30 Tight ****. I love small things like this :] cheezit 05-07-2003, 00:03 sweet, this is something i was hoping for in tribes 2 Sir Lucius 05-07-2003, 00:07 Oh sweet, check this out: Q: Concening skins and textures. There are a lot of skinning and texture eyecandy effects I'm sure your going to be putting in. For example, Tribes2 had an alpha layer for an enviorment map. What system is going to be used for player effects in T:V? Will texture files use a seperate shader support file (like quake 3 did) or will you have multiple alpha layers for env map, bump map, etc? Here's an answer, straight from Andrew James' (Lead Artist): "We can use any combination of the following Skin layers set up in a Shader: Diffuse, Opacity , NormalMap, PerPixelSpecular, SpecularityMask, PerPixelReflection, PerPixelReflectionMask, SelfIllumination, SelfIlluminationMask" I think that means textures are going to be really pretty in Tribes 3 :D BlodBath-VuP- 05-07-2003, 00:42 hooray for pretty! i read that too luc and just thought the same thing. rock on T:V dunce_boy 05-07-2003, 02:33 yeah Lucius, i've been trying to get a clear answer on this one since they did the first "ask the dev team" thread. Im so happy they finally gave a stright forward answer to it...and it was the answer im sure we all wanted! :D I cant wait to skin for T:V muahahhahaha edit: now im wondering how many different tribes we'll be seeing. So far I've heard Phenoix(the heavy), Empire(julia :D ), and Blood Eagle(i've heard thrax or some other dev mention 'em)...so i'd imagine about 3-5 different tribes, and if they all have different meshes...OH BABY!!! :D Bloody 05-07-2003, 03:01 That question was actually already answered befor the Q&A :)(About there being different armour models for each tribe). Yaason 05-07-2003, 03:37 this game is sounding better and better by the minute. im going to have to start writing down questions for the IRC interview Beren 05-07-2003, 08:35 this game is sounding better and better by the minute. im going to have to start writing down questions for the IRC interview I suggest everyone does this. It will only be an hour long, we don't want a quiet channel with users trying to "think up" questions with the staff having nothing to ask, or have to prepare a long list of backups before the session. Also i suggest people have a read through of the T:V FAQ before hand so we don't make the Dev's feel like a broken record on Newb Questions. Furthmore, if we have good questions, we won't bother to forward on the newbie questions that have already been answered several times before. Void|deadjawa 05-07-2003, 09:51 I suggest everyone does this. It will only be an hour long, we don't want a quiet channel with users trying to "think up" questions with the staff having nothing to ask, or have to prepare a long list of backups before the session. I think a quiet channel is the least of your worries beren  Sir Lucius 05-07-2003, 10:35 the +m of doom will make things pretty quiet I'm thinking, but the pm floods will kill them for sure. BlodBath-VuP- 05-07-2003, 12:54 im hoping they make the blood eagles look badass as hell. they were always the goons of the tribes universe jsut 05-07-2003, 12:57 the +m of doom will make things pretty quiet I'm thinking, but the pm floods will kill them for sure. it's easy to ignore pm's though, just don't click on them (assuming you are using mirc) Zoolooman 05-07-2003, 16:07 Beren: Make a thread about the questions. Note that you shouldn't ask questions that are answered in: The TribalWar T:V FAQ: http://www.tribalwar.com/vengeance/faq.php The Bittah T:V Snippets Archive: http://www.bittah.com/tv/snippet.php?&start=0 That way people in general know where to look for answered questions. Then we can get new questions galore. Zoolooman 05-07-2003, 16:15 It's also worth noting that a lot of good questions are asked in the Bittah.com snippet archive, that Thrax could not answer at the time. The IRC chat would be a great chance to repeat some of them again. Example: Q: What is the feasability of having some cinematic tools(primarily camera based: Dolly, zoom, pan, tilt) for creating pre scripted type movies if you will? Thrax: Good question. No answer, sorry. Just little things like this all over the place. Stuff they might be able to tell us. :] Beren 05-07-2003, 17:11 There will be another announcment closer to the time, and it will recommend people read the resources that are around so they don't ask the same questions. However not everyone will read through it, and there will be some cross over. There is after all, only so much that we can ask and that they are allowed to tell us at this point. Thrax Panda 05-07-2003, 19:52 I suggest everyone does this.
