Good idea or bad idea?

Should a light being sniped in the arm take as much damage as a light sniped in the torso?
Should heavies have to fear that disc in the visor?

I can't decide wether it'd be cool or just plain annoying.

At least chainwhores wouldn't be so annoying and getting MA sniped wouldn't totally **** you up (or at least there'd be a chance that it wouldn't :o).

i think that you shouldn't over complicate things. Simple refined game play is the go. I will sight the example of the TR2 scoring system of how things came be cool but overly complicated.

Head, Body.

That is all.

Maybe a sound played when you hit somebody with the Laser Rifle (like Quake 3).
Server-side obviously, it'd help determine whether the snipe registered or not.
Make the interpolation command public too, many idiots believe it's a cheat because it's not documented in most places.

I think the game should follow in battletech's footsteps and make the groin the most vulnerable area.

While we're at it, let's go for broke.

Make all areas of the body a seperate hit location. This way we can totally rip off mechwarrior.

Limb amputation & maiming on an epic scale!

The thought of an armless, legless fatty rolling (jetting? :o) on the ground is mildly amusing.
