A Jewish heritage museum has become the latest to criticize Google over its search hits, accusing it of profiting from Holocaust denial. The search giant accepted money from the museum to stop a neo-Nazi website from appearing at the top of the results.
David Schendowich, marketing director of the Breman Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, says the facility pays Google up to $2 a click via AdWords to direct internet users to its own website when a person types in "did the Holocaust happen. This is to stop internet users from being directed to a white supremacist site by the name of Stormfront, which lists the "top 10 reasons why the Holocaust didn't happen."

Tribes will be celebrating its 16th birthday today, though celebrating may be a bit of an overstatement. Unlike other popular PC games of the mid-to-late 90s such as Starcraft, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Half-Life, and of course Counter Strike, the original Tribes has unfortunately been unable to retain much of its player base. While there was a time when the game had over 100,000 players and a plethora of servers and mods to choose from, those days have long since passed.
Those remaining today are the die-hards. The ones who know the game from the inside out, and absolutely slaughter the rare newcomers who dare to step -or fly- in front of their Spinfusor. Online activity typically peaks later into the evenings, with just two servers managing to attract between 12 and 18 players each, 20 on a good day. In total there are roughly 5 active servers, none of which feature the vanilla game itself anymore. Popular mods such as Annihilation and LT (Light Tribes or Light Training, depending on who you ask) have taken over the original game that launched in 1998.

"When browser-based gaming destination first announced GarageGames' Fallen Empires: Legions, people immediately started calling it a browser-based Tribes. InstantAction would rather we call it the spiritual successor, especially now that they've got an official web-based version of Tribes on the way. The new web-based version of Tribes will feature enhanced graphics, thanks to InstantAction's powerful browser-based gaming tools, along with better modding options.
Visitors to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next week will be able to get their hands on a playable version of Tribes, while learning how InstantAction managed to deliver an updated version of the game in web browser format.

On November 3rd, 2008 Vivendi shut down the official Tribes 2 listing and authentication servers. Now, the Tribes Next team has created its own authentication server that's free and easy to use, even if you didn't have an account (or CD key) before. If you or your friends have been looking to play Tribes 2 again, or for the first time, but didn't know where to begin, check out the Tribes Next patch and start playing right away.
