The iPhone might lack a bunch of normal phone functionality, but it is now getting some games that one would not expect a current phone to be able to play. Top of this list is the highly anticipated title Spore which is due out later this year on PC and Mac.

As if the game wasn't pervasive enough in our PC lives, Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce says they're considering a mobile interface. Don't get all excited about raiding Magtheridon on your iPhone - it's just an idea for chat, mail, and auction interactivity... for now.

"Zeemote, Inc. (www.zeemote.com), today announced the launch of the Zeemote JS1, a wireless controller that enables near-console game play on mobile phones.
Measuring a snug 95x35x20mm/3.7x1.4x0.8in and weighing only 47g/1.7oz (including batteries), the Zeemote JS1 controller sits perfectly in the hand and is ergonomically designed for optimized comfort. With a thumb stick and four assignable trigger buttons, the JS1 controller offers real analogue control enabling users to truly engage with mobile games."
I can't really decide if this would be fun to use or not, but I know for sure I won't be buying one. Would you buy a wireless controller to play tetris on your cell phone?

A user by the name of F00 f00 has managed to successfully graft a full size PlayStation 2 controller -- not that junk-ass rumble-free PS3 affair -- to the rear end of his PSP. Homebrew and emulation will certainly benefit from the addition, but it's pretty clear that any PSP so heavily jacked into and expanded upon would be best suited for showing off on forums where cred and props far outweigh everyday usefulness.
