Jailbreak: Source has finally been brought up to version 0.4 with a mammoth update including a bucket-load of new content. The change log speaks for itself:

IOS was originally released for Half-Life and reached IOS Beta 4.0 for Half-Life

Now there is IOS Source (IOSS) for Valve's Source Engine. IOSS requires Valve's "SDK Base" to be installed. IOS Source is a free mod. IOSS does not require Orange Box although it will still work if you have it.

IOSS is a first and third person online multiplayer soccer game that aims to be the online equivalent of great console soccer games but with a true multiplayer teamplay experience.

Valve to Split The Orange Box on April 9

The move is not one of desperation. While The Orange Box has done well on consoles, with well over a million copies sold between the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, Valve's Doug Lombardi characterized the PC release as "significantly stronger," citing a two-digit percentage increase over the console editions.

In its current state ES seems to be moulding itself in the image of the Freespace and Descent games, with a dash of homegrown deathmatch gameplay thrown in for good measure.

Left 4 Dead Announced For XBox 360

The 360 version of L4D will allow for four-player coop and eight-player versus matches over XBox Live or System Link. Lombardi was asked whether or not the game would support split-screen multiplayer, but he replied that for now, although split-screen is an attractive prospect, he couldn't promise it.

Fortress Forever 2.0 Released

Version 2.0 of Fortress Forever, the Half-Life 2 multiplayer mod that recreates the experience of Team Fortress Classic in the Source engine, has been made available for download.

This patch includes visual and gameplay changes. If you were a fan of the original Team Fortress, this mod is definitely worth a shot.

Insurgency Mod Beta 3.0 Announced- New battles in Kosovo, British Army, IEDs

# Insurgency Beta 3 will be be powered by the Orange Box Engine by Valve. As long as your SDK Base is updated, you will NOT need to buy the Orange Box.
# It will feature a new theatre of war: Kosovo.
# The sides fighting for Kosovo will be the British Army and a fictional paramilitary group, the Serbian Liberation Army.

Beta 3.0 will also feature completely overhauled classes (looks like the RPG gunner as we know it will be gone), IEDs will be added as well as many, many other changes.

Major Source Engine and Team Fortress 2 updates

At 11:00am PST (2:00pm EST) today, all PC players of Team Fortress 2 can expect to get their hands on a very large update that delivers gameplay enhancements, graphics and networking optimizations, and perhaps most anticipated is the release of the "Badlands" map and tweaks to three of the existing maps as well.

Zombie Panic Source has been released. Zombie Panic pits Humans and Zombies against each other in classic multiplayer battles. The mod feels quite polished for a first released. Still not convinced you want to try it? Then check out these screenshots.
