The over minute long video showcases not only some maps and weapon models, but gives you a taste of in-game action as well. Firearms 2 is one of two Firearms mods currently being developed for Source. The other is Firearms: Source, which has a semi-official nod from the original Firearms for HL1 team. Firearms for Half-life 1 was the first FPS to include parachutes and the ability to go prone. More information on the original can be found at it's wikipedia entry. To go along with this announcement, the team has also released a few lengthy gameplay videos as well. Note that this is the same date as the beginning of the Team Fortress 2 beta as well. The suite, sold at retail and through Valve's Steam download service, will consist of the shooter sequel Half-Life 2: Episode Two, the team-based multiplayer game Team Fortress 2, and the action/puzzle game Portal. Valve is handling development of the games on PC and Xbox 360, with EA UK's Chertsey, Surrey office bringing the titles to PlayStation 3.
