Jailbreak: Source has finally been brought up to version 0.4 with a mammoth update including a bucket-load of new content. The change log speaks for itself:

Zombie Panic Source has been released. Zombie Panic pits Humans and Zombies against each other in classic multiplayer battles. The mod feels quite polished for a first released. Still not convinced you want to try it? Then check out these screenshots.

Yes there's a submod like this in Garry's Mod, before anyone asks.

Firearms 2 Video Release (Source Mod)

The folks over at Firearms 2 have just released a new gameplay video. The over minute long video showcases not only some maps and weapon models, but gives you a taste of in-game action as well.

Firearms 2 is one of two Firearms mods currently being developed for Source. The other is Firearms: Source, which has a semi-official nod from the original Firearms for HL1 team.

Firearms for Half-life 1 was the first FPS to include parachutes and the ability to go prone. More information on the original can be found at it's wikipedia entry.

Half-Life 2 Wars is one of the first real time strategy mods to be released for HL2. The release is small but is intended as a preview of the mods most basic functions. It features two maps and the outer workings of a standard RTS style game.

If vehicle carnage and explosions are your things, then Die in Pain, Rest in Peace is your mod. The DIPRIP team has delivered on their promise of an in-game trailer showcasing the intense action, the three current maps, two vehicles, and lots of pickups.

DIPRIP is a mod for Half-Life 2... and if I'm not mistaken, I see a recreation of the farm map from Twisted Metal 2.

First on the agenda is something that may not be overly surprising to all. The Orange Box package has jumped ahead to be the leader of the pack on Meta Critic with a rating of 97 for both PC and the Xbox 360, beating games such as Halo 3, Bioshock, and even all previous Half-Life titles.

Three Month Mod is a mod for Half-Life 2 based on the Metroid series.

The plan - a fully functional, entertaining mod with custom assets. Three months from conceptual to downloadable, and three days to Proof of Concept in-engine.

The videos show the animation to turn into the morph ball, and further down the page shows some in-game action.

Fortress Forever Release Date+Gameplay Videos

That's right folks, a solid and concrete release date of Monday, September 17, 2007 has been set for the release of the highly anticipated Fortress Forever. To go along with this announcement, the team has also released a few lengthy gameplay videos as well.

Note that this is the same date as the beginning of the Team Fortress 2 beta as well. I don't believe this was intentional, however it means that if you atleast own Half-Life 2 you're going to be playing Team Fortress on Source on September 17th, 2007. :)

Valve Confirms Episode Two, Team Fortress 2 Launch Date

Last night, Valve representatives confirmed to Shacknews that the studio's upcoming trio of Source-powered games will ship for all announced platforms on October 9, 2007. The suite, sold at retail and through Valve's Steam download service, will consist of the shooter sequel Half-Life 2: Episode Two, the team-based multiplayer game Team Fortress 2, and the action/puzzle game Portal. Valve is handling development of the games on PC and Xbox 360, with EA UK's Chertsey, Surrey office bringing the titles to PlayStation 3.
