July NPD: PS3 'price cut' not enough to beat Xbox 360

Submitted by: DudeofDeath @ 10:32 AM | Tuesday, August 28, 2007 | (url: http://www.1up.co...)

Mostly, we learn that Sony Computer Entertainment America's SKU altering change -- resulting in sales of 159,000 PlayStation 3s -- around E3 time wasn't enough to push Xbox 360 out of the frame, as Microsoft managed 170,000 sales. Of course, Wii and PlayStation 2 continued their mutual domination using "last generation" hardware, pushing 425,000 and 220,000 respectively. Them's some crazy digits, kids. - www.1up.com
