Christmas is the season of giving, and EA is getting into the holiday spirit by offering ten free days of Crysis Wars, the multiplayer suite from Crysis Warhead. From December 19 to December 29, you'll be able to give the game a try, along with the new holiday map pack that will be released this week.

How do you participate? "Starting today, gamers can take advantage of this great offer by registering online at and by downloading Crysis Wars," EA said in a statement. "After registration, players will receive a unique key generated on the site that will be saved to their profile, allowing them to play on all online multiplayer servers from Friday, December 19 at 9:00 AM PT to December 28 at 11:59 PM PT."

- Parrots now randomly poop as they fly around the map. Pooping frequency increases under times of stress, like when pecking at enemy faces.

Oh and 2 new maps as well as 3 new game modes, too.

Half-Life 2 Wars: 0.5 Released

That's right, version 0.5 of Half-Life 2 themed strategy mod Half-Life 2 Wars is ready for download. The HL2 Wars team have clearly been working hard since their last update in March. The new version adds two new maps, base building for both factions (Combine and Resistance), and a number of smaller aesthetic enhancements.

Insurgency is a free, multiplayer modification for Half-Life 2 based on modern engagements in the Middle East and elsewhere. RC2.1 brings a revamped weapon system, class system, new maps, map fixes, new shaders, and dozens of other changes.

Free Source Mod: Science & Industry 2 Released

The first version of Science & Industry 2, the Source remake of the popular Half-Life mod, has been released. The team states that the mod is only an early version of the mod and isn't a final polished product, but ensures that it is good fun regardless.

Science and Industry 1 was a much acclaimed, original mod for Half-Life 1.

International Online Soccer (Football?!) Source Mod Released!

IOS was originally released for Half-Life and reached IOS Beta 4.0 for Half-Life

Now there is IOS Source (IOSS) for Valve's Source Engine. IOSS requires Valve's "SDK Base" to be installed. IOS Source is a free mod. IOSS does not require Orange Box although it will still work if you have it.

IOSS is a first and third person online multiplayer soccer game that aims to be the online equivalent of great console soccer games but with a true multiplayer teamplay experience.
